Ô Cameroon! Modern and Contemporary Art and Artists (1925 to Now)
Ô Cameroon! Modern and Contemporary Art and Artists (1925 to Now) is a landmark publication and visual anthology surveying artistic production in Cameroon from the early twentieth century to the present.
Bringing together 175 artists across generations, the 406-page volume includes more than 300 images. It traces the development of artistic practices through shifting historical, cultural, and material contexts—from foundational figures to contemporary voices working across local and diasporic spaces.
Newly commissioned essays by writers, curators, and scholars situate these practices within broader critical and art historical frameworks. Conceived as both archive and reference, the book establishes a critical foundation for the recognition and positioning of Cameroonian art within global art history. The publication will be released in September 2026.
