Anna-Alix Koffi

Anna-Alix Koffi, Founder, STEREO FETISH

Anna-Alix Koffi is a creative director based between Abidjan and Paris, founder of SOMETHING, a time-based art center in Abidjan, and of several art publications. She is the initiator of STEREO FETISH, a research-led exhibition project devoted to Jean-Micheln Basquiat’s October 1986 stay in Côte d’Ivoire, his only encounter with the African continent.

First publicly addressed in Venice, STEREO FETISH speaks directly to In Minor Keys: an episode long held as minor in the dominant Basquiat narrative, reread from Abidjan as a site of enunciation. It is not a commemorative project, but an attempt to shift the site of knowledge: to move the episode from anecdote to archive, and from biography to history. Developed with Simon Njami as general curator, Ange-Frédéric Koffi as guest curator, and Prof. Frieda Ekotto among the contributors to the scientific catalogue, the project unfolds in Abidjan through three exhibitions, a documentary investigation and a 2027 publication. STEREO FETISH, Abidjan, 10 October 2026 – 31 March 2027.
